One Sheet Challenge

One Sheet Challenge

Walking into the laundry room this week, I was greeted by a unique mess. Spills come in all varieties in our house - the accidentally tipped glass of juice, the overflowing watering can in the sink and the sloshing of an awkwardly carried plate. But this spill was of the mystery variety. An entire bottle of lotion had fallen from the shelf, onto the floor, leaving behind its sticky contents. Was the bottle knocked over by a child? “Not me” and “I dunno” greeted my inquisitions. Did it just randomly fall? Was the lid loose? Whatever the genesis of the spill, I did what every good mom would do – I ignored it for three days.

I didn’t want to tackle the oozing, greasy pile of goo. But before I stepped in it or a cat or a kid wore the pile, I decided I should remove it. Ironically, I received an email that prompted me to get rid of the mess. Bounty is running a contest called The One Sheet Challenge. They claim that one sheet of Bounty can clean up your “toughest messes”. So I clicked the link out of curiosity and realized it may be worth my while to clean up the lotion.

The One Sheet Challenge grand prize is a $30,000 kitchen makeover. I so want to win me one of these! There are other prizes, but I want the big Kahuna. So I got my sheet of Bounty, because of course I have the industrial pack from Sam’s Club, and attacked the blob. Amazingly, the claim was true. One sheet handled the greasy, glob of lotion. I rinsed the sheet out over and over and it didn’t fall apart. What are they making this stuff out of? Maybe the people who make my boys pants could reinforce the knees with a little Bounty.

So now I’m hooked. I’m a One Sheet crazed maniac. You can enter the contest once a day and I have a lot of messes for inspiration. A cup of oil spilled in the cupboard, the shelves and drawers in the fridge needed a scrub and remnants of a birthday party were all over the basement. You guessed it… I was one sheet wild. Who says stay at home mom have no fun? Summer at home with four kids is making me scary.

We have so many messes in this house. One of them should be able to win me a prize! Although I’m with you, now that it is summer I let many messes sit for a couple of days. It ripens them up.

Sounds like just what I NEED at our house, One Sheet for spills, and let me tell you we too have had some very creative spills.
And the new kitchen sounds wonderful also.

I’ve had that crazy mess to clean up before too - but mine was kid created, LOL. However, I don’t remember having as much success in cleaning up the slippery, greasy mess. Next time I’ll know to reach for some Bounty - thanks!
