I love this. I found your post doing a search on "spiders and resilience". I am hosting a disability blog carnival tomorrow on the subject of resilience and I will be including this post.

Great post! I loved reading this because I have always tried to be one of those people that can weather life's challenges and ups and downs with grace. I try. It;s funny... I had a friend in 6th grade... and I have remembered this all my life.. she was so wise even back then... Someone once asked her, "If your house burned down to the ground, what would you do?" She smiled and said "Build a new one." And I have always remembered that throughout all these years. She was so content and positive... I hope people see me that way. Thanks for this great post to ponder about!

Yeah...sometimes I do feel like I'm in the spin cycle and I won't make it to the top. THanks for the perspective.

I've never been likened to a spider before, but I think we've been through all the things you've mentioned in your entry. And we've learned to smile and glide through, thanks to too much experience and a good bit of faith. Great devotional! :)

Your words are so beautiful. It's amazing how thought-provoking a spider in your washing machine can be!!
